WESSEX AWARDS DINNER - a new venue for 2010

The 2010 Awards Dinner has been postponed until 20th February due to the weather. Traditionally held on the 2nd Saturday in January, at the start of the new season, rather than at the end of the old, the Wessex Awards Dinner is an opportunity for members to get out of their lycra and into their 'posh gear'.

The very first Awards Dinner organised by the Wessex Group of the, then, newly formed EGB was held at the Stag & Hounds pub at Thornfalcon, near Taunton. However after a couple of years we outgrew the pub and looked for a venue which was more central for the widely dispersed Wessex membership.

We were lucky enough to be offered the very gracious venue of Marston House, the headquarters of the Foster Yeoman Group and for two years members enjoyed these very grand surroundings - unsurpassed to date. However the eventual sale of the Foster Yeoman Group meant the Awards Dinner was homeless yet again!
